Several aspects benefit from the use of the WillCo-dish™:

1. Brightness of the image

a. Working Distance.
b. Numeric Aperture.
c. Resolution.

2. High Magnification
High resolutions, with effective short Working Distance.

3. Confocal Microscopy
High resolution Image Processing under digital control, for Fluorescence and Reflection graphical images.

4. Polarization free

a. Differential Interference Contrast (DIC); better analysis and diagnostics (e.g. ROS¹ and pre-implantation in IVF).
b. Hoffman Modulation Contrast (HMC).

5. Fluorescence
Multicolor Fluorescence in situ hybridization (M-FISH).
Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS), for the study of molecular interactions in solution. GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein) - techniques.

6. Image Analysis
High Resolution Images; high standard analysis and diagnostics software, used in research in all Life Sciences. Computer Assisted Stereology .

Cell growth, ICSI (embryology, IVF).

Further aspects are:

1. Much larger effective range, using an objective lens with a short Working Distance.
2. No birefringence effects because of thin (0.17 mm.) glass bottom.
3. Larger effective Working Distances, make micro-manipulation possible.
4. Higher effective N.A. make brighter images in fluorescence.
5. Higher effective N.A. make higher resolutions in Image Analysis.
6. Sterile WillCo-dish™ and "Embryo/Bacterial Endotoxin" tested WillCo-dish™ available.
7. Microscope light passes through bottom glass in a rectangular way; glass rests on the stage.
8. Direct heating from the microscope-stage, because the glass is in direct contact with the stage.
9. In IVF, no more oocyte-/embryo transfer is needed from one plastic dish to another, unless different media are used.
